I have had some problems with the english I'm hearing here.
Soup - Soap
Cliché, but imagine not realizing it and wondering what is the stuff on your plate
Foreign police - Fucking police
For some days I thought that the person organizing my stuff didn't like the local police...
Faculty - Fuckulty
sorry to say, but only few people here seem to be able to say this right.

Pronunciation
Sometimes people mix somehow similar words...
Chicken - Kitchen.
"You don't like the food on Friday. We are having kitchen."
Prison - Poison
We were talking about women. Try guessing the rest :)
rice - rise
I wrote: "Howard's rise looks good". After that occasion, I probably wont mix these words again :D
Double meaning
Sentence - combination of words, not punishment for some crime.
I still have troubles saying
World - and it sounds too often as the word "word".
Cabbage - I say it right, but people don't understand me or just do not know the word in english. One can find cabbage in many foods. Kapusta is cabbage in Slovak.
Phrases you need to know
Jedno pivo, prosím - Have you never ordered beer before?
Milujem t'a - I love you.
It is used as in Finland - Not so often and only if you really mean it.
Dakujem - Thank you
Prosím, Dobré - These two words are so versatile that two people can have a complex conversation using only these words. Well, almost.
Ahoj!, Tšau! - Hello, Hello/Bye...
Some short words which really can help you
z, od - from
v - in
k, do - to
od do - did (simple?)
You just need to pronounce them right ;)
I miss...
The Finnish language - Not being able to chat with anyone using my own native language is hard.
The Finnish sauna - There is no sauna culture here and saunas are really a joke compared to any Finnish sauna.
My kitchen - A cooking plate is... a cooking plate.
Things that they find funny
"Ääliö syö mämmiä" - Just a tongue twister, which I made up for the Slovak people :)
"Hyvää ruokahalua" - Well, it is complex compared to "Dobre chut".
"Naked people in sauna, throwing water on the oven" - Sauna, version 0.1
Words, which some Slovaks seem to love
Manage, organize - Ivo
However, therefore - These words seem to be here more common than in "normal" English. (Vero, I ReaLLy ReaLLy think so ;)
