So what is all this?This is what's called a "photoblog" or "photographic web log". For long I've had a habit of publishing or mailing single shots that I've taken to friends. "Publishing" in that case meant putting the image file to the public_html directory without a file listing after I had cleaned the memory card of my camera and then copypasting the url to some IRC channels. However, that kind of practice causes older images to be forgotten and be unavailable to random visitors due to lack of file index. Also most of those single shots never made to the gallery page because I didn't like the idea of having a gallery consisting of only few or totally different kinds of images. As a result, I finally realized that a photoblog was the way to go. |
